Raw Silk is a powerful six-piece band that combines funk, soul, R & B, blues and jazz, into a tasty, rhythmic stew that has delighted audiences on the South Coast of California since 1989. It was originally formed in that year around the duo of lead vocalist Leslie Lembo and keyboardist/vocalist George Friedenthal.

The addition of the soulful saxophone of Del Franklin and undeniably tight and funky rhythm section of Donzell Davis on drums, Mychal Lomas on bass, and Ray Pannell on guitar, along with George on keys has always been the driving force behind the amazing vocal power and rhythmic inventiveness of Leslie Lembo.

Members of the band are also road veterans who have shared the stage or toured with many great names in the world of pop, soul, rhythm and blues and jazz. If you know this band you already love it; if you don’t, you’re in for a treat for body and soul.
