Morganfield Burnett & Da Blues

For “Morganfield Burnett” (Larry Edwards), playing the blues has been a lifelong passion. His harmonica chops and vocal stylings are gritty, downhome, and just good old fashioned blues, what you would call “the real deal.”

For “Morganfield Burnett” (Larry Edwards), playing the blues has been a lifelong passion. His harmonica chops and vocal stylings are gritty, downhome, and just good old fashioned blues, what you would call “the real deal.”

Born in Dallas, Larry grew up in East Texas near the Louisiana border, one of America’s hotbeds of southern culture. At the age of four, he was heavily impacted, and subsequently hooked on music, when he witnessed a traditional parade and a Louis Armstrong concert up close and personal.

Hailing from Santa Barbara, Larry’s eclectic tastes led to playing and fronting R&B, funk and hip hop bands on the way to forming Morganfield/Burnett & da Blues, an all-star ensemble. He has been consistently pleasing crowds at home and around Southern California while his considerable talents have led to recording projects and performing opportunities on the road. Notable sessions include being backed by Big John and Kim Wilson of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Kid Anderson, and other world-class bluesmen.
